Valued Client“It isn’t every weekend that you get to celebrate your bachelorette party (hopefully only once, ha!), so when I began planning our weekend in Carmel, I knew a private dinner needed to be part of the experience. As a self-proclaimed foodie, I wanted the evening to feel special, memorable, and worthy of the occasion (and, of course, completely impress my bridesmaids). After working with Chef Nance, I can honestly say that even that goal feels like an understatement.
From the very beginning, Chef Nance made the entire planning process effortless. If you’ve ever planned a wedding, you know how valuable it is to be able to hand over even a few details with confidence, and that peace of mind alone was such a gift. I was introduced to Nance through a friend, and while he spoke so highly of her, she still managed to exceed every expectation I had.
We began with a conversation about my preferences, dislikes, and overall feel I wanted for the evening, and from there she created a menu that felt both thoughtful and beautifully personalized. I completely trusted her vision, and she delivered a meal that was not only delicious, but truly unforgettable.
We started outside with an incredible spread of homemade dips, crisp veggies, shrimp cocktail, and perfectly seasoned nuts and crackers that were impossible to stop snacking on. We then moved indoors where we enjoyed fresh, vibrant salads followed by our entrées – fresh salmon and beef filets – both of which were prepared impeccably and tasted every bit as elegant as they sounded. Each dish felt intentional, balanced, and expertly executed; the kind of meal that makes you slow down and savor every bite.
Then came a trio of mini desserts, which were every bit as yummy and memorable as they rest of the meal. The lemon tarts were bright and delicate, the black and white cookies were classic and comforting, and the mini macarons added the perfect touch of whimsy and refinement to finish everything off. It was something for everyone, and felt like the perfect ending to a perfect dinner!
The entire experience felt like dining at an exceptional restaurant, except it was all enjoyed in the comfort and intimacy of home. My bridesmaids and I had the most wonderful time not only enjoying the food, but also spending time with Chef Nance. She immediately felt like someone I’d known forever ~ warm, gracious, talented, and incredibly easy to be around.
I hope to have the opportunity to have her cook for more of my loved ones very soon, and would recommend her without hesitation to anyone looking for a private chef who can create a meal that is both beautiful and deeply satisfying.
